Sheila Bialka

Sheila Bialka

Past president and one of the founding members of The Old Pros, Sheila has directed several musicals and plays, including “The Gin Game.” She also has directed readings and has appeared in a few shows. She has co-written three musicals and choreographed and directed them also.

Her latest endeavors have been on video, showing the “Village at Work”  interviews with the heads of various  departments here to show what happens in the everyday running of the Laguna Woods Village. They have been shown on YouTube.com and have received a number of hits. Also, she has been interviewed by Russell Brand for his up coming documentary of his travels in America, due out sometime in the fall of 2011. The latest project the Old Pros have been involved with is Yahoo films. A series of spoofs on teenage comedies to promote Yahoo Films. Sheila was a producer on that project.

Before moving to California, Sheila lived in Hartford, Connecticut, for 30 years and worked at the Institute of Living, where she loved teaching and directing both Ballroom dance and Drama to the patients.

The Old Pros have grown and blossomed in the six-plus years it has been a club, and Sheila gives credit to all of the very professional and semi-professional members; they are a joy to work with. Sheila strongly believes that to stay young and healthy, you must be involved in something you love, and her love of theatre is as strong now as it ever was. Thank you, Old Pros.
